Our Story
Though Peak Design Company began in 2023, the company was born out of the relationship between founders Robert White and Joana Berling that began decades ago. This duo has been working hand and hand designing award-winning, temperature-controlled buildings for the nation’s largest food and beverage/distribution companies, alongside leading builders, and in partnership with global organizations dedicated to changing the cold chain.

Executive Team
Joana Berling
PRESIDENT
Joana is an award winning architect and Certified General Contractor. In addition to running the firm she sits on the Design Build Institute of America’s national board and serves as a commissioner for Jacksonville, FL Downtown Development Review Board.
Licensed in over half of the United States, she has lead teams in the design and construction of hundreds of millions of square feet of temperature controlled buildings.
Joana has a passion for learning, seeking always to innovate; she is currently wrapping up doctoral studies at the University of Florida.
Robert “Robby” White
DESIGN VICE PRESIDENT
Robby is an expert at putting together thermal buildings. With over three decades of experience in the industry he has overseen the design of hundreds of millions of square feet of cold storage, distribution, food and beverage processing and logistics facilities. He has designed numerous award winning projects including three food processing plants of the year. Working in Design Build most of his career, as well as in the field, he knows the details to put thermal buildings together and avoid costly failures.

Sara McDuffee
DESIGN PROJECT MANAGER, LEAD INTERIOR ARCHITECT
Sara is a architectural and design professional adept at multitasking and developing
creative solutions. History of successfully coordinating with consultants, clients and vendors
as well as managing design teams with ease. Sara maintains both the client relationship and project success, as measured in client satisfaction, work quality, profitability, and fostering team professionalism and collaboration.
Jkins Saevang
BIM Coordinator
Jkins leads the company’s BIM team, coordinating with consultants on a daily basis to ensure that technology is always an aid not hindrance to the design and construction process. He is passionate about enabling end users to virtually experience every aspect of their projects before construction ever begins.
Carlos Aguila
PROJECT DESIGNER
Carlos has decades of international architecture experience. For the past decade he has been working under Robby White specializing in temperature controlled buildings.
